Children’s Faith Formation

Dear Pope Francis, Why do children need to go to catechism classes? – To know your friend Jesus better and know his big family, the Church. ~ Pope Francis, Dear Pope Francis, 39

Catechesis is a responsibility of the entire Christian community. This should not be the work of catechists and priests alone, but of the whole community of the faithful. The Christian community follows the development of catechetical processes, for children, young people and adults, as a duty that involves and binds it directly. (General Directory of Catechesis, no. 220).

A fully Christian community can exist only when a systematic catechesis of all its members takes place and when an effective and well developed catechesis of adults is regarded as the central task of the catechetical enterprise.” (Adult Catechesis in the Christian Community, no. 25).

Taking these ecclesiastical guidelines to heart, St. Anthony of Padua parish is committed to providing solid and engaging catechesis for all age groups and generations.

We would like all parents of children to know that we are in the process of accepting registration forms for the 2023-2024 school year. Religious Education classes for your children are conducted here at the parish.
You will be hearing in early August on what day and time the classes will be. A complete class schedule will be given out on the first day of class.

Registration forms are available for download below, or hard copies can be picked up at the entrances of the church. Please return these forms ASAP by mail, in a collection basket or directly to the church office.

Our sacramental program for First Communion as well as Confirmation Preparation is done during this same time. For more information on either of these programs please feel free to contact Mr. Raymond Cournoyer or Fr. Jacek Leszczynski (413) 538-9475 ext. 100. E-mail
