About Course

Here are some important things you should know about this course.

This course works best as part of a parish confirmation program. Catechists may use this program in their Confirmation or RCIA classes, or adults, homeschool teachers, and students may use this course on their own, to supplement study or, as a refresher.

Each of these courses has been reviewed for Magisterial integrity by Deacon Keith Fournier, the Editor-in-Chief of Catholic Online and the Dean of Students for Catholic Online School.

Most parishes have their own requirements for Confirmation. Those requirements often include attendance at Mass and service hours (volunteer work). This course offers a certificate of completion, but the certificate does not mean a person has been confirmed in the Church, something that can only happen through the Rite of Confirmation, at the hands of a bishop.

This course features 32 mobile-friendly video lessons. In order to earn credit for completion, a student must play 100% of the video from beginning to end. If the video is skipped, or viewed at less than 100%, then credit for that portion of the course will not be registered. A student is required to complete 100% of all lessons, including passing all quizzes to earn a certificate of completion. The student must click the continue button through every section of every course and watch 100% of the videos.

If a student does not pass their quiz, the quiz can be immediately retaken. The quizzes are used to test for understanding. If a student does not earn a 100% score on a quiz, it is recommended they re-watch the video, then re-take the quiz, to reinforce the lesson.

A button at the bottom of each page will allow students to “Complete & Continue” each element of the lesson. It is suggested you use this to move through the course in sequence to best avoid skipping elements.

Each lesson comes with a full study guide, which also includes the script for the video, so students can follow along. Some lessons have supplemental readings in the “Student Printouts” section of the PDF Study Guide, which are optional for those wishing to learn more about a topic.
